I think the Zelda world is a lot vaster than the way it's portrayed in the games with distances being condensed in ways that probably aren't realistic. I know it's just a concept, but it does bring up what I think is an interesting question of how long these adventures would take if link were having them in a more realistic world. But even if months are passing, it wouldn't be enough to explain link's aging shown in the concept. Now there's at least some level of time contraction that happens in the Zelda games as the day night cycle happens very quickly with each hour taking about a minute or so, so even though we play the games for 30-60 hours, months of in game time are passing. I think that shows the idea that the developers don't view the time that passes in the game to be literal. In Wind Waker, there was an idea that Link could subtly age from a child to a teenager over the course of the game. I was watching a video on cut Zelda features, and one got my attention.
